The seed sown on rich soil is the one hears the word and understands it.
We hear so many things in our lifetime. God and his word are only one of them.
In life we have to make very honest choices: what is really important to me and what is less important: my relationship with God, me health, my money, my friends. So many things on our plate.
A countless number of people can hear God and his word, but following him joyfully and radically requires very deep and very personal relationship with him.
Jesus is not naive and according to today’s parable, only a small percentage of his disciples will bear fruit.
It’s not because they don’t love God. It’s not because they don’t care. It’s because they are busy with many other things. God and his Word are only an option.
If we want to hear and understand God’s word, we need to be silent. We need to be very careful to what we listen to. We need to make the best choices. Whatever we hear affects our life and our choices.
I wish us to be wise and I wish us to be really close to God. I wish us to keep the first place for him and his Word.
I believe that it’s the only way to win in our life.
Have a blessed weekend,
Father Rafael
